I am an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Southern Maine in Portland, ME.

I attempt to do my best teaching physics from the introductory to advanced undergraduate level, and I do my best to involve undergraduates in interesting tabletop physics experiments. I’m currently working on a sensitive torsion pendulum to measure small magnetic field fluctuations, as well as working on a textbook for scientific computing using python.

This site is an attempt to put on the web data relevant to experiments I’m working on—I can use LaTeX to write mathematics in WordPress, something I cannot do in any other web development environment I know of (i.e. iWeb, Dreamweaver, Freeway Pro, etc).

I can be reached at pauln at maine dot edu.
